The Grouse in the Heather

The Grouse in the Heather is an exceptional wall sculpture, capturing the essence of a grouse in a moor, a personal tribute to my first encounter with these birds on the Glorious 12th in 2019. Since that memorable day, the grouse has been in my freezer, patiently awaiting its transformation into a truly remarkable piece of art. My connection with these birds and the moors they inhabit makes this creation particularly meaningful, as those landscapes hold a special place in my heart, a cherished retreat unlike any other.

Crafting this piece was a labour of love that spanned several months, with each feather meticulously placed by hand. Every element of heather was painstakingly crafted and painted. Grouse, being iconic birds, evoke powerful emotions and memories in people, and this sculpture aims to encapsulate and convey that sentiment.
